Real-Time Medical Exposure in a 900-Bed Super Specialty Hospital

At GPIAHS, clinical training is at the heart of our allied health sciences education. As a student, you gain hands-on practical experience through regular postings and internships at the SS Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre (SSIMRC) — a fully operational 900-bed super specialty hospital located within our own campus at T. Begur.

This in-house hospital setting provides a unique learning environment where classroom knowledge meets real-life medical practice. Under the supervision of experienced medical professionals, students are exposed to diverse departments and patient care settings, making them career-ready from day one.

🔬 Departments Where Students Receive Clinical Exposure

Our students undergo structured clinical training in multiple specialized departments to ensure holistic learning and professional skill development:

🧪 Pathology Laboratories :
Learn to process and analyze samples for hematology, microbiology, biochemistry, and histopathology — vital for diagnostic support.

🩻 Radiology & Imaging :
Work with state-of-the-art imaging technologies including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasound, learning how to support accurate and timely diagnosis

🔪 Operation Theatres (OT) :
Participate in surgical preparation, instrument handling, and OT protocols, gaining confidence in high-pressure, sterile environments.

🫀 Intensive Care Units (ICU) :
Observe and assist in the care of critically ill patients, understanding complex medical equipment and patient monitoring

🚨 Emergency & Trauma Care :
Experience fast-paced emergency settings, learning triage systems, patient stabilization, and interdepartmental coordination.
